Last week I left a comment on a blog as part of a yarn and pattern giveaway. And, guess what?!? I won! I just got my Barking Dog yarn today, and it’s a really cool spring-like green that I love!
So, now l have a new yarn to use for next week’s yarn along with Ginny. Be sure to check the end of this post to find out how you can win something too!
As for my cowl from last week… I’m pretending it’s just a couple skeins of yarn wound interestingly… Yep, I’m ripping out by knitting straight from the Honey Cowl into a different project. It’s easier on me this way.
I just wasn’t happy enough with how the Honey Cowl turned out using my Malabrigo yarn. It really surprised me that I didn’t like the cowl more, since I love both the yarn and the pattern… apparently not together though. I’m definitely going to try the Honey Cowl pattern with the Madelinetosh yarn next time.
So, moving on… the new cowl pattern I’m following is called the bertrand louis and I’m REALLY liking it. This pattern shows off the stitches so well and, as always, the Malabrigo yarn feels wonderful as I’m knitting.
Next up, I mentioned in the title of this post that I won something and that you can too! I was so excited when I learned I had won my little skein of yarn, that I decided I wanted to be able to do that for someone else. So, for those of you with the longer attention spans who read all the way through this post to get to here (or you scanners in the group)…
Here’s what you can win…
No, I am not giving you my skein of yarn. I am, however, giving away a cool “Learn to Crochet” kit that includes yarn, hooks, and more! All for you. All for free!
1. Leave a comment at the end of this post (be sure to include your email address so I can contact you if you win- no, I won’t use your email address other than for this drawing… frankly I don’t have the time or interest in developing a thriving spam business).
If you would like additional opportunities to win, you can also
2. “Like” Twyste on Facebook (post a comment on the Twyste page saying you entered to win), and/or
3. “Follow” me on Twitter and send a tweet letting me know you entered to win
Each of the above gives you a new chance to win!
This contest ends next Tuesday at 4pm, so I can contact the winner before the next Yarn Along. Have fun and good luck!
